Sinopsis
In a world where learners carry a language classroom in their pockets, the urgent question is no longer whether mobile technology belongs in language education it is how to guide learners through the profound developmental journey that effective mobile language learning demands.
iMOLA: Integrated Mobile-Oriented Language Acquisition is the first comprehensive developmental framework purpose-built for mobile-assisted language learning (MALL). Grounded in six converging theoretical traditions Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, Engeström's Activity Theory, Wenger's Communities of Practice, Collins's Cognitive Apprenticeship, Siemens's Connectivism, and Ryan and Deci's Self-Determination Theory the iMOLA framework maps the learner's trajectory across six recognisable stages. This developmental journey begins with Stage I, Understanding, which marks the learner's First Encounter. It then progresses to Stage II, Exploring, which focuses on Discovery & Evaluation. In Stage III, Integrating, the process transitions into Habit & Daily Life, followed by Stage IV, Collaborating, which emphasizes Social Interaction. As the learner advances, Stage V, Innovating, introduces Principled Design, and the entire trajectory ultimately culminates in Stage VI, Creating, where the learner achieves Community Contribution.
